The Sidekick's Lounge
Home of the City's Sidekicks

They are the brave, underappreciated layer of justice between the evil-doers and their victims, the Sidekick. And lest I be accused of kicking them aside, here is a page just for them.

Arthur

Arthur

Arthur is The Tick's sidekick. He is a former accountant who sets out to become a superhero after he buys a flying moth suit at an auction. Arthur is one of the few characters that appears in the comic, the cartoon, and the live action series as himself, and he has writeups in all three heroes sections (cartoons, comics, live). In many ways, Arthur is the most interesting character in the series, as he is the straight man who is often the victim of the Tick's quirks.

Arthur also gets a chance to 'kick for some other superheroes in Alone Together when everyone thinks The Tick has been blown into space. He works with Die Fledermaus but quits when he realizes Die Fledermaus never actually fights crime and he kicks for Human Bullet but quits after being shot out of the cannon. Arthur also spends some time as a supervillain after he steals a muscle-enhancing belt from Baron Violent, but he comes to realize the error of his ways.

Appearances: The Tick vs. The Idea Men, The Tick vs. Chairface Chippendale, The Tick vs. Dinosaur Neil, The Tick vs. Mr. Mental, The Tick vs. The Breadmaster, The Tick vs. El Seed, The Tick vs. The Tick, The Tick vs. The Uncommon Cold, The Tick vs. Brainchild, The Tick vs. Pineapple Pokopo, The Tick vs. The Mole Men, The Tick vs. Proto Clown, The Tick vs. Arthur's Bank Account, Little Wooden Boy and the Belly of Love, Alone Together, Armless but not Harmless, Bloomsday, Coach Fussell's Lament, Leonardo DaVinci and his Fightin' Genius Time Commandos!, Evil Sits Down for a Moment, HEROES, Ants in the Pants!, The Tick Loves Santa!, The Tick vs. The Big Nothing, The Tick vs. Reno, Nevada, Grandpa Wore Tights, That mustache Feeling, Tick vs. Dot and Neil's Wedding, Sidekicks Don't Kiss, Tick vs. Arthur, Devil in Diapers, Tick vs. Filth, Tick vs. Europe, Tick vs. Science, Tick vs. Prehistory, Tick vs. Education

Arthur was voiced by Mickey Dolenz season 1; episodes 1-13, and Rob Paulsen in seasons 2 and 3.

Blitzen

Blitzen

Blitzen is the sidekick of Éclair, the lightning-themed superhero defender of Antwerp. She teams up with The Tick when he is sent to Europe through the superhero exchange program, and she introduces Tick to many European customs (like disco dancing).

Appearances: Tick vs. Europe

Blitzen was voiced by Candi Milo

Fire Me Boy!

Fire Me Boy!

Fire Me Boy is the son and sidekick of The Human Bullet. His role it to pull the lever on the cannon to fire Human Bullet at crime, but his mother is concerned that he doesn't play with his friends enough...

Appearances: The Tick vs. The Idea Men, The Tick vs. Dinosaur Neil, Alone Together

Fire me Boy had no lines.

Little Wooden Boy

Little Wooden Boy

Little Wooden Boy is The Tick's sidekick for a time in the Little Wooden Boy and the Belly of Love episode. Arthur leaves the Tick during hobby night to go on a date with Carmalita, and the Tick is so distraught he makes himself a new sidekick.

Unfortunately, Little Wooden Boy is killed at the end of the episode when the heroes are swallowed by Blowhole and they need wood to make a fire to smoke themselves out.

Appearances: Little Wooden Boy and the Belly of Love

Little Wooden Boy had no lines.

Speak

Speak
The Furry Moist Avenger

Speak is a Capybara from Mexico who becomes The Tick's pet. Of course, Tick thinks Speak is a dog...but hey, no one's perfect. Speak only actually speaks twice; once when Tick had fallen out of a plane and was delirious, and once in Arthur's description of the Tick's fantasies; but both times are hilarious. I just wish they had introduced Speak earlier in the series.

Appearances: Sidekicks Don't Kiss, Tick vs. Arthur, Tick vs. Europe, Tick vs. Prehistory, Tick vs. Education

Speak was voiced by Jess Harnell
