The Tick #3: Night of a Million-Zillion Ninja

The Tick Issue #3 picks up the Ninja story line introduced in The Tick #1: The Tick! Tick is standing on a roof staring out over The City when Oedipus runs into him as she flees from the Ninja. The Ninjas decide to attack Oedipus and Tick and of course Tick obliterates them (and then throws a chimney at them to boot).

Oedipus takes Tick home to try to retrieve the Thorn of Oblivion, but they find that the house is surrounded by a hedge of Ninja. Oedipus tries to walk a tightrope into the house but falls, and the Tick rescues her in vary heroic fashion. Oedipus then explains the history of the Ninja and the Thorn of Oblivion and then we are introduced to the most evil character in the Tick universe; Amanda, Oedipus's mother.

I absolutely loved this issue. The funniest thing is the incompetent Ninja. They're hilarious!

This issue features these Superheroes:
Oedipus (Oedipus Ashley Stevens), The Tick, Shing, Arthur (background only)

This issues features these Villains:
The Ninjas, District Manager

Ninja Hedge
We are a hedge; please move along.

Oedipus's stepmother, Amanda, is probably the most evil person in the entire Tick pantheon. She is shown here ripping the wings off of a butterfly. Is it just me or does she look a bit like Harriet Curse?

The Tick:
He stands…like some sort of…pagan god or deposed tyrant. Staring out over the city he's sworn to…to stare out over…and it's evident…just by looking at him…that he's got some pretty heavy things on his mind.
Ninjas aren't dangerous. They're more afraid of you than you are of them.
I'm going to throw a chimney at them…

The Ninjas:
Go away silly person…or we'll choke you to death with your own antennae!
We are a hedge. Please move along.
