I
first encountered the Tick cartoon when I was in college at the
University of Illinois. I had never read any comics before, but
something in The Tick resonated with me, and I thought it was
one of the funniest shows I had ever seen. I watched it avidly
throughout the Fox run, and I watched them all again when The
Tick moved to Comedy Central. When The Tick was dropped from Comedy
Central's lineup I was filled with despair.
I tried to carry on my mundane existance without Tick, and managed
to survive for a few years. My next encounter with The Tick was
at a bookstore, where I saw a copy of The Naked City and bought
it. I didn't expect too much; as comics were 'for kids and geeks',
but I loved it. After reading it, I went out and bought comics
7-12, and once again I was a Tick fanatic.
Eventually,
I started doing some webdesign projects, and I found that I really
enjoyed making websites. I decided to make sites for some of my
hobbies, and the first thing that came to mind was The Tick. Leggman's
Tick fansite was first introduced to the world in July, 2001,
just in time to ride a wave of popularity that coincided with
the introduction of a Live Tick TV-series. Unfortunately, though,
the series didn't catch on, and now things are looking bleak for
Tick fans once more.
Please
feel free to browse around the site. I'll continue to update it
regularly whenever I get time and more content. If you see any
errors on the site, please let me know; I'm a bit fastidious about
things like that and typos really drive me crazy.
Thanks
for visiting!
