Arthur
Needs Space
This
episode is one of my favorites from the short-lived live
Tick series.
Arthur runs into a girl he had a crush on in high school,
and she agrees to date him. Arthur wonders if it is wrong
to date her since she just seems interested in his superheroism,
while Tick has no clue what's going on.
Meanwhile,
Captain Liberty
is trying to keep nude photos of herself out of Peek-a-boo
magazine (unsuccessfully) with the help of Batmanuel.
While Arthur gets more serious with Stacy, it falls upon
Captain Liberty and Batmanuel to explain sex to Tick, which
is a scene that has to be seen to be believed (it is probably
the funniest 30 seconds in the entire series - here's the
audio clip).
Eventually,
Tick manages to learn nothing, and he become convinced that
Stacy has eaten Arthur and he tries to rescue him by prying
her jaws open, much to her dismay. I know she won't appear
again (I've seen all the episodes but The Terror which will
now never air) but I wonder if they planned to make her
a recurring character.

Batmanuel understands the fallen honor of a woman.
Together we shall see that no eyes rest on your national
monuments.
Batmanuel is a jealous ex-lover. If he cannot see
you naked then nobody can.
Batmanuel has finished the Big Gulp, now he must water
the bushes…

What?
Would it be appropriate for Captain Liberty to be
photographed in anything less than the nude? In fact,
isn't it an insult that she's not naked right now?!
Janet, you don't
by chance have any hand puppets, do you?
Captain
Liberty:
My
rear admiral!
I am employed by the
United States government to be a symbol of all that
is good and right. Now, they were mad enough when
I went into detox and they're sure as hell not gonna
love this.
If it's weird and it's him [The Tick] the answer is
yes.
Arthur:
The
only time she talked to me in four years was when
I was hit by a car. By her…her car. I threw up I was
so happy.
Now please let me get
to the laundromat. I haven't taken this suit off in
a week and it's starting to smell like a giant sock!
Stacy
Waxman:
Where
did you get the inspiration to be The Rabbit?
With or without the blue guy? 'cause he creeps me
out.
