Alone
Together is another of my favorite episodes. It has more sight
gags and good one liners than most of the other episodes; like
"I've been the janitor to the apocalypse for two long months,
Arthur, and it's a comin'
this way!" The basic story is that The
Tick is chosen to participate in a cleanup effort on the Moon
(to remove the Cha from The Tick vs. Chairface
Chippendale) Of course, Tick screws up and blows himself into
space where he meets Omnipotus.
Omnipotus
is a gigantic person who floats through the universe eating planets.
Unfotunately for him, he can't do many of the things that smaller
people can do, and he makes The Tick do things like pluck his
eyebrows and rub his feet in exchange for giving him a ride back
to Earth. When the arrive at the Earth, though, Omnipotus starts
eating it. Without giving too much away, Tick manages to convince
Omnipotus to go away with only a small bite out of the moon...

This
is one small step for The Tick, and one giant step for…say…a little
bug! or some guy who has been shrunk to the size of a penny!
|
|

I
say let the indestructible guy do the dirty work.

The funniest
part of this episode has to be Arthur's experiences without
The Tick. When Tick seems to be blown up everyone assumes he
is dead (or just gone) and the City builds a memorial statue.
Soon after The
Whirling Scottish Devil goes on a crime spree. Arthur is
distraught with grief, and he signs on to sidekick for Die
Fledermaus for awhile but has to quit when he realizes that
Die Fledermaus never actually fights crime. He then 'kicks for
Human Bullet for awhile
but getting shot out of the cannon didn't seem to do him much
good. He tries out his solo career and is about to be pummelled
by the Scottish Devil when the Tick falls out of the sky is
a rocket shoe and knocks the head of his own statue onto the
Devil. Arthur was saved!
