The Tick vs. Pineapple Pokopo involves The Tick and Arthur's first official, governmentally sanctioned mission. The National Space Program has a capsule go out of control which exposes their space monkey, Yank, to cosmic rays. Yank becomes a super genius. Unfortunately, Yank's capsule splashes down in scenic Pokoponesia, the realm of the nefarious Pineapple Pokopo. American Maid enlists the aid of Arthur and The Tick and they set off to rescue Yank.

Early on in this episode we get one of the best lines in the Tick pantheon; when two secret agents arrive at Tick and Arthur's apartment and say 'we're with the government' Tick's reply is 'No thanks; we've got all the government we need!' One of my all time favorites!

Welcome to Pokoponesia!

I liked Pokoponesia and the idea that they were trying to attract tourists (the only things that Pokoponesia had were sharks and pineapples). As villains go, Pineapple Pokopo is about average, though. The most entertaining things in this episode are (1) watching the Tick try to act undercover and (2) watching the Tick swim and surf with the sharks. The only reason this episode only got 3 stars is Yank, who gets kind of annoying.
